The Chapter joined the Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter on a beach walk in March 2022 to raise funds for the Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA).
More than 40 Sigs, KDs, friends and family, and dogs walked on Coligny Beach for about an hour, raising more than $2500 for CAPA in the process. Many stayed afterwards for a box lunch and socializing.
Several brothers laid wreaths for the Christmas holiday season at the Beaufort National Cemetery demonstrating patriotism for departed military veterans. Afterwards brothers and guests enjoyed a holiday season lunch together.

On Thursday April 2nd, 2026, brother Gene Chamberlain successfully hosted the very first Hilton Head Alumni Chapter Sigma Chi fishing trip.
The concept proposed by Gene, who is a member of the Freedom Boat Club, worked out as planned in fishing the waters around Hilton Head Island.
All 4 alumni brothers got to enjoy a beautiful day on the water with brotherhood and teamwork the focus of the trip. Although the fishing proved challenging, a good time was enjoyed by all. Gene's hard work planning and manning the boat during the trip, along with his skillful fishing guidance were much appreciated by Larry, Rick and Guy who were aboard this first fishing excursion.

The excursions would be held in the April, May and July, 2026, on peak fishing days according to solunar records. (See Schedule below). We would like to determine the interest level. How many Sigs would like to go fishing?\N\NHere is the concept: Gene is a member of the Freedom Boat Club and all excursions would begin about 8:30 am and end about 3pm at the dock at the Safe Harbor Marina in Hilton Head Plantation. The excursions would be in 22 – 24ft boats rigged for fishing. Gene would be host and pilot and take 3 Sigs for each excursion. The men in each group can help Gene plan the fishing locations if they wish.\NFishing would be considered as “inshore”, around Hilton Head Island and associated waterways around the Island. This would include Port Royal Sound, the May River to Palmetto Bluff, Bull Creek to Dafuskie island, Calibogue Sound and Broad Creek, Mackay Creek around Pinckney Island, Port Royal Sound up to the Bridge at Highway 170, as well as into the Chechessee and Colleton Rivers.\NGene will pay for gas , but guests will participate for $25 each for lunch, bait and water or other refreshments, with a tip for the dockhands. As part of our alumni chapter plan to create a variety of functions for 2026, brother Gene Chamberlain has offered to host up to 4 fishing excursions depending upon the level of interest. The excursions would be held in the April, May and July, 2026, on peak fishing days according to solunar records. (See Schedule below). We would like to determine the interest level. How many Sigs would like to go fishing?
Here is the concept: Gene is a member of the Freedom Boat Club and all excursions would begin about 8:30 am and end about 3pm at the dock at the Safe Harbor Marina in Hilton Head Plantation. The excursions would be in 22 – 24ft boats rigged for fishing. Gene would be host and pilot and take 3 Sigs for each excursion. The men in each group can help Gene plan the fishing locations if they wish.
Fishing would be considered as “inshore”, around Hilton Head Island and associated waterways around the Island. This would include Port Royal Sound, the May River to Palmetto Bluff, Bull Creek to Dafuskie island, Calibogue Sound and Broad Creek, Mackay Creek around Pinckney Island, Port Royal Sound up to the Bridge at Highway 170, as well as into the Chechessee and Colleton Rivers.
Gene will pay for gas , but guests will participate for $25 each for lunch, bait and water or other refreshments, with a tip for the dockhands. Guests will pay Gene in advance by check or cash prior to their assigned date.
